Primus Stays with EON Capital

EON Capital Berhad ('EON') has decided to reject Hong Leong Bank Berhad’s takeover offer, which foils the opportunity for Primus Pacific Partners ('Primus') to divest itself from EON. Currently, Primus holds a 20.2% stake in EON. (Malaysia)

IFC May Invest in Bangladesh Fund

International Finance Corporation is planning to invest US$12 million in SEAF Bangladesh Ventures Fund, which provides risk capital financing and advisory services to small businesses in the International Development Association countries. (Bangladesh)




DEG Participates in Indonesian Life Assurance Company

Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH ('DEG') is taking a 23% stake in PT Avrist Assurance ('Avrist'), an Indonesia-based life assurance company. DEG will support Avrist in its future growth as an independent company in the insurance industry. (Indonesia)



Biofuel Co. Could Raise Capital from China-Africa Fund

The Hong Kong-listed Hua Lien International (Holdings) Co. Ltd. ('Hua Lien') announced its plans to raise capital from investors, one of which is China-Africa Development Fund. Hua Lien will use the funds to develop an ethanol biofuel business in African countries. (People's Republic of China)

J.P. Morgan's Asian Infrastructure Fund Closed

J.P. Morgan Asset Management ('JPMAM') has raised US$858.6 million for its JPMorgan Asian Infrastructure & Related Resources Opportunity Fund, which will be managed by the Asia Infrastructure Investments Group within JPMAM. (Pan-Asia)




1st Green Infrastructure Fund Launched in Nanchang

China Development Financial Co., Ltd. has teamed up with the People's Government of Nanchang City to form the country's first green infrastructure fund at Rmb5 billion (US$732.4 million) that has a fund life of 12 years. (People's Republic of China)




ZSVC Forms Low Carbon Fund

Zheshang Venture Capital has announced the launch of the Zheshang Nuohai Low Carbon Fund with a target size of Rmb200 million (US$29.3 million). (People's Republic of China)

PEP Sweetens Offer Price for Energy Developments

Pacific Equity Partners ('PEP') has raised its final offer for Energy Developments Ltd. ('Energy Developments') to A$2.76 (US$2.42) per share, from A$2.75, in a bid to gain over 90% of Energy Developments. When materialised, it will represent a transaction that will amount to A$632.3 million. (Australia)




IDG Ventures India Invests in iCreate

IDG Ventures India has invested 150 million rupees (US$3.22 million) in the Series A fund raising exercise of iCreate Software Pvt. Ltd. The latter specialises in business intelligence for banking products and solutions. (India)




Quadrangle Backs Tower Vision India

A consortium of investors, led by Quadrangle Capital Partners, has committed an aggregate 15 billion rupees (US$300 million) to Tower Vision India Pvt. Ltd. which had earlier secured financing from Morgan Stanley. India is currently the world's second-largest wireless market by subscribers. (India)




Softbank China Supports Medical Technology

Softbank China Venture Capital has invested an undisclosed amount in Suzhou Natong Bionanotechnology, Ltd., a Chinese medical product company. The latter engages in the development and commercialisation of drug delivery technologies. (People's Republic of China)





DFJ VinaCapital Invests in Online Tax Service

DFJ VinaCapital LP has invested an undisclosed amount in Twenty-Four Technology Solutions Corp. ('TS24') which is the owner and operator of TaxOnline, an online tax service provider. TS24 also receives support from the Tax Bureau in Hanoi. (Vietnam)

Sin Heng Heavy Machinery Listed on SGX

Sin Heng Heavy Machinery Ltd. ('Sin Heng'), a heavy lifting services provider in Singapore, was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Earlier, SEAVI Advent Corp. Ltd. took a controlling stake in Sin Heng, and pared down its holdings at Sin Heng’s initial public offering. (Singapore)
